1ST FIND THE IDEAL PLACE FOR THE PRODUCT:
Where you position Otostick will affect how different your ears will look.
TIP: Before removing the protective papers, try holding the ears back in different places to find the best place to apply Otostick on each ear. Just use a fingertip to press the ear straight back and identify the right spot on the back of the ear to apply your Otostick.
Check out the demonstration video on this page or on YouTube; or contact us directly if you’d like more help.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? Simple: NOT ALL EARS ARE THE SAME, what works for one person may not work for another. As with many things, practice makes perfect.
2ND CHOOSE THE MOST SUITABLE OTOSTICK®:
As we said, not all ears are the same shape and nor are they all the same size.
OTOSTICK® is designed for all users aged three years and over. OTOSTICK® BABY is for use from the age of three months.
If OTOSTICK® is too large for your ears, OTOSTICK® BABY can still be used no matter what the age of the user.
Absolutely true and perfectly normal, Otostick can take a little time to get used to. An adaptation period of up to two months may be required to get used to wearing Otostick, figure out how long each corrector remains in place for you, or how well it stays in place in the shower or bath, etc.
DON’T GIVE UP, STICK WITH IT. You’ll soon get used to it!
THERE ARE A FEW COMMON ISSUES THAT YOU MAY ENCOUNTER, YOU JUST NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR.
MILD DISCOMFORT FROM HOLDING THE EAR IN THE CORRECT POSITION..
In some cases, the ear needs to adapt little by little, start by wearing the product for a few hours and then remove them when discomfort is felt. Over time, try gradually wearing Otostick for longer periods of time –the discomfort should ease until you don’t even notice that they’re there.
PRODUCT COMING UNSTUCK.
Once you are used to applying it, OTOSTICK® should stay in place for between 3 and 7 days, though this can vary by individual user. If possible, get someone to help you the first time you try them, it will make it easier!
The correctors need to be removed after a maximum seven days, and you should leave at least 8 hours before applying another to give the skin time to ‘breathe’.
If the product comes unstuck early, it’s usually because of the area not being totally free of oils and moisture, or because hair has got under the Otostick (which allows water to get underneath), or the sticky surfaces have been touched whilst being applied to the ear or head. We recommend that you check the instructions for use and follow each of them closely – without skipping a step. There are many popular haircare products and toiletries that contain oils and moisturisers which can affect the sticking power of Otostick. We recommend using an astringent cleanser where possible – depending on yourskin type.
REDNESS OR SKIN IRRITATION.
Each time the product is changed, it may be necessary to moisturise the exposed skin – depending on your skin type – particularly with children. We recommend using a suitable hydrogel; consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Otostick® is a product that can be used regularly or just now and again for special occasions.
It is a disposable single-use only product which is made to last up to a week, including showers and baths. Each packet should last for up to one month.
It is made of medical-grade silicon and a specially developed skin-friendly adhesive.
OTOSTICK® BABY holds baby’s ears in the correct position, preventing the ear from being folded when sleeping, resting the head against the back of the pram, when on the highchair, etc …
